1. What is the difference between a STOCK SHOE and a MAKEUP SHOE (NYC Exclusive).

A stock shoe is a style that is regularly produced by Alden year round.  If we do not show a stock shoe in stock there is a likely chance the shoe is available at the Alden factory to order.  You can proceed with an order or contact us direct to see how long it will take to get the next available pair

A Make Up style is one we have made custom for our NYC Madison location.  If we do not have a size showing  in stock we cannot get one until the next production run arrives.  You can preorder a make up style or be added to the wait list for the next available pair.  Make Ups typically arrive 1 to 2 times per year, so wait times can be longer to arrive than stock shoes.   Deposit required for all non D widths.

 

2.  Do you stock Wide and Narrow widths?

We stock most shoes in D (medium) and E (wide) widths.   To make shoes in Narrow (B,C) or extra wide (EE, EEE) will require a special order.  Special orders require a non-refundable deposit ($300) and usually take a minimum of 6 months to be made.

 

3. What is the best LAST for my foot?

Please refer to the SIZING section on our website.  Some feet can fit many lasts, some can fit few.  The best approach is to pick the style you like best, refer to our sizing page, and order accordingly.  Try not to get too hung up on the last and focus more on the style you want.  If you learn that a last does not work for your feet you can then adjust your search parameters.

 

4. What is your return policy?

We allow returns up to 14 days after you receive the shoes.  If your order is shipped  the 14 day period begins once the pair is delivered.   Once this period expires we take shoes back for exchange or store credit up to 1 year after purchase.

Shoes must be returned in NEW condition.  No heavy creases or marks to the outsoles allowed.  Make sure to try on shoes indoors on a carpet.  Shoes must be able to be resold in pristine condition if returning.

Returns are the responsibility of the customer.  You must ship the products back to our shop – no return labels are provided.

 

5.  Do you ship internationally?

At the request of Alden we are only allowed to ship within North America – USA , Canada, and Mexico.  A proper USA address is required when ordering online. Please provide email and phone number and tracking information will be emailed to you.  Standard ground shipping is via UPS.
